Special trains for Sabarimala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Southern Railway will run bi-weekly and weekly special trains on the Kacheguda-Kottayam, Kakkinada Town-Kayamkulam and Guntur-Kayamkulam sectors until January 14 to clear the heavy rush of Ayyappa pilgrims during the ongoing Sabarimala festival season.

According to a spokesman, the 742/741 Kacheguda-Kottayam special will operate as a bi-weekly train. The first service of the 742 Kacheguda-Kottayam bi-weekly special will be on December 9 and the last service from Kacheguda on January 13.

The 744 Kakkinada Town-Kayamkulam bi-weekly special commenced on Tuesday and the last service will be operated on January 11. In the Guntur-Kayamkulam section, the first service of the 730 special started from Guntur on Wednesday and the last service will be on January 12.
