Kerala bans use of endosulfan

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Pollution Control Board has banned the use of Endosulfan in the State.

An official spokesman said here that the Board had taken the decision by invoking the powers to take action against those who violated Section 33 A that dealt with checking of water and 31 A with that of air for pollution under the Pollution Control Act.

The Board also issued necessary directions to the heads of all its offices to enforce the order strictly and take stringent action against violators, if any.
