Thiruvananthapuram AIR, DD staff stage sit-in

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Akashvani, Doordarshan Administrative Staff Association staged a mass sit-in demonstration in front of the All India Radio office here on Thursday.

A spokesman of the association said here that the programme was part of the countrywide agitation launched by it in 1997 to protest against the limiting of pay revision by the Prasar Bharati to just one section of the employees.

Leaders of the association who addressed the participants took exception to Prasar Bharati failure to extend the pay revision to the entire staff in defiance of court orders and recommendation by a Parliamentary Standing Committee.
