IT-enabled Services Raritan plans call centre, tech support in India Our Bureau
New Delhi , Dec 10 RARITAN Computer, a supplier of enterprise KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) equipment and remote IT infrastructure management solutions, on Friday announced its direct presence in India and said it is mulling call centre and technical support functions in the country through a third party on a build operate and transfer (BOT) or contract basis. "We are considering having call centre and technical support functions in India either by outsourcing on a normal contract model, or through a BOT model," Mr Sev Onyshkevych, Marketing Vice-President, Raritan Computer, said here. While the call centre functions involve making sales pitch and follow up with potential customers, the technical support focuses providing support to the company's resellers and select customers. "We are currently doing call centre pilots in Delhi and Bangalore. We have short-listed some vendors and expect to arrive at a decision in a month's time," he said. The company would also decide on whether or not to have technical support functions in the country by the second quarter of 2005. The company has outsourced call centre activities in the US, Japan and Germany, he pointed out. The company today also announced its strategy for India, which is in line with its worldwide strategy to target the growing server market. Based in Delhi, Raritan new office will be headed by the newly appointed country manager Mr Vinod Hingorani.
