Reliance, VSP, Jindal units bag awards for energy conservation

RELIANCE Industries Ltd's Hazira petrochemical unit and Jamnagar refinery have won the National Energy Conservation Award 2004.

The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, on Tuesday presented the company with the award for first position in petrochemical and refinery sector respectively, a news release said.

Our New Delhi bureau adds: Vishakapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) and Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) has been awarded the first and second prize for energy conservation among the integrated steel plants for the year 2004.

JSPL has been the recipient of this award for the fourth year in succession during the four years of its participation and had bagged the first prize last year, according to a company release.

The awards were presented here on Tuesday by the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh.
