New Products & Services CavinKare launches Fairever variant Our Bureau
Chennai , Dec. 15 IN a bid to increase its market share, CavinKare has launched a fruit vitaliser variant of its fairness cream brand Fairever. The fairness cream market is dominated by Hindustan Lever's Fair and Lovely, which has a market share of about 80 per cent, followed by Fairever with a market share of 8 per cent. The total size of the fairness cream market is estimated to be about Rs 700 crore with 30 per cent of the market being in the South. Mr Ramesh Viswanathan, Vice-President, Sales, CavinKare, said, with the new variant, the company hopes to increase its market share to 11 per cent next year. Mr Viswanathan said, in the personal care business, upgrades and variants were necessary to keep the market buoyant. The new Fairever cream has extracts from pomegranates, tomatoes and apples, which will give the skin a natural glow, he said. The cream also contains saffron and milk, the age-old remedy for fair skin. The new product comes at existing prices and will be available in four price points ranging from Rs 5 for 9 gm to Rs 69 for an 80-gm pack. It is being launched across South India this month and will be rolled out across the country by January.
