Mumbai , Dec. 15 QUALCOMM has opened a BREW Developer Lab here. The new lab, one of nine BREW developer labs worldwide, will provide Indian application developers access to the latest BREW-enabled handsets, software and testing tools. In addition, the lab provides developers access to hands-on technical support from Qualcomm. The BREW solution includes a variety of powerful features via its powerful client software and backend distribution system. Publishers and developers can take advantage of these features to create and monetise innovative mobile applications. Key capabilities include the ability to develop 3D games easily, flexible pricing options such as value billing that enable additional incremental revenue opportunities; and the chance to reach new users through a variety of new shopping options available soon. Qualcomm is expected to have 200 persons on the ground in India by year-end, across New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. At a related press briefing, Mr Kanwalinder Singh, President, Qualcomm India, said that CDMA users from the domestic telecom industry have sought spectrum allocation on par with that enjoyed by those using GSM technology. ``We are asking the regulator to give comparable spectrum on a technology neutral basis,'' he said. Also present were Mr Mahesh Prasad, President (Applications & Solutions Group), Reliance Infocomm, and Mr Pankaj Sethi, Vice-President (Content & Application), Tata Teleservices Ltd.
