Mutual Funds Sundaram Select vs Nifty Our Bureau

SUNDARAM Mutual Fund's Select Focus Fund has provided an annual return of 49 per cent (as on November 30,) compared with the 36 per cent scored by the benchmark index, the Nifty. The scheme, according to the latest fact sheet, is invested in about 30 companies representing a number of sectors. Some of the bigger constituents of its portfolio are auto, metals & mining and oil & gas. Its top holdings include M&M (marginally over five per cent), TCS, Hindalco, SCI and Grasim. Sundaram Select, which has delivered nearly 26 per cent in the past year (compared to 21 per cent by the Nifty), has paid three dividends - 20 per cent, 25 per cent and 40 per cent - since June 2003.
