Passenger service fee on IA tickets to be taxed

Our Bureau

Chennai , Dec. 19

THE passenger service fee on tickets issued in Indian rupees on or after December 20 will be taxed. This is consequent to the levy of service tax by the Government on all types of services.

According to a press release from Indian Airlines, the passenger service fee will now be Rs 221 (inclusive of service tax) instead of Rs 200.

There will be a change in passenger service fee collected on tickets issued outside India, as it does not attract service tax.
