Anti-dumping duty on oxo alcohol to be reviewed

THE Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry has initiated a sunset review investigation on an anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of oxo alcohols from Poland, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iran, the US and the European Union.

Andhra Petrochemicals Ltd, Vishakapatnam, which is currently the sole producer of the oxo alcohols under investigation, had submitted a petition substantiating the need for a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty.

The company had also requested for continuation of the anti-dumping duty imposed on certain forms of oxo alcohols.

The oxo alcohols that are under investigation are 2-ethyl hexanol, normal butanol, iso-butanol and iso-octanol.
