CII workshop on vanilla

Our Bureau

Kochi , Dec. 20

IN a bid to bring together all the stakeholders in vanilla to overcome the current crisis and create a more stable market, CII Kerala is organising a participatory workshop called `Vanilla Sustainable Solutions' on Wednesday.

Extractors and end-product manufacturers are using more and more vanilla substitutes to adapt to the situations arising due to lack of vanilla availability in the market.

"Exporters are unable to comply with their contracts, extractors are being cornered, food companies are disoriented - all due to incompatible buying prices," CII said in a release.

In the workshop, small and marginal growers, planters, processors, exporters, extractors and food companies will come together for the first time and brainstorm on making the Indian vanilla industry sustainable, it added.
