Airlines British Airways to add more flights to Mumbai Our Bureau
Chennai , Dec. 20 THE Government has, under the limited open skies policy, permitted British Airways to operate four additional flights between India and the UK. According to a press release, British Airways will increase its flights to Mumbai from January 25, until the end of March 2005. It will operate three daytime flights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in addition to its existing daily flights from Mumbai. The commencement of the fourth service will be confirmed shortly. Passengers now have the flexibility to choose to travel non-stop to the UK during the day or fly its scheduled night service. A Boeing 747-400 aircraft operates all flights to and from Mumbai. Mr Andy Stern, General Manager, South Asia, British Airways said that the airline was keen to increase its flights from Mumbai. Passengers now have the flexibility to fly non-stop instead of travelling via inconvenient transit points due to the lack of sufficient capacity between India and the UK, he said.
