Kerala: `Insurance strike total'

KOCHI: The token strike on Tuesday by officers and staff of the four public sector general insurance companies in Kerala to press for their various demands including wage revision was total, according to Mr P.P. Mohanan, State General Secretary of the General Insurance Officers All India Association.

He said that since divisional and branch managers including the Class 1 officers had participated in the strike, all the 250 offices in the State did not function.

Mr Mohanan said around 60,000 employees struck work on Tuesday throughout the country.
