Kerala: Water levels decline

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Water levels at the three major reservoirs in the State — Idukki, Idamalayar and Kallada — have recorded a marginal decline compared to the respective levels recorded a week ago.

A spokesman of the Central Water Commission said here that the level declined from 2368.22 ft to 2366.15 ft at Idukki; 507.51 ft to 505.38 ft at Idamalayar; and 371.56 ft to 370.73 ft at Kallada.

However, the three reservoirs actually recorded higher levels than those at the same time the previous year. The level is higher by 21.2 ft at Idukki; 11.94 ft at Idamalayar; and 3.18 ft at Kallada.
