Gulf employment: Women jobseekers warned

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has directed that women jobseekers looking for an opportunity in the Gulf countries to leave India only after making proper enquiries about their visa and ascertaining that it is valid.

An official said this caution is occasioned by the fact that the State Government had received information from Indian diplomatic missions that women being taken to these countries on visiting and job visas were being exploited by unscrupulous elements. Those who resisted their approaches were being harassed.
