Newgen bags Philippines e-gov deal

Preeti Pandey

Bangalore , Dec. 28

DELHI-BASED Newgen Software, document management and business process management solutions provider, beat competition from the likes of IBM and FileNet to bag a Philippines Pesos 130 million project.

The e-governance project commissioned by the Philippines' Securities & Exchange Commission and Bureau of Internal Revenues involves a system that allows e-filing of quarterly and annual returns by corporate entities. Newgen Software will implement its OmniDocs and OmniFlow products in the two-phased project.

"E-governance, however, is a big area with the (Philippines) Government having allocated big bucks for e-governance projects," Mr Punit Jain, V-P, Sales & Marketing, Newgen told Business Line.
