Onkar Kanwar takes over as FICCI President

THE FICCI has a new President in Mr Onkar S. Kanwar for 2004-05. Mr Kanwar took over from the outgoing President, Mr Y.K. Modi, at the conclusion of the 77th Annual Session of FICCI on Tuesday.

Mr Kanwar is CMDof Apollo Tyres Ltd. A FICCI statement said Mr Saroj Kumar Poddar has become Senior Vice-President. Mr Poddar is Chairman of Poddar Heritage Enterprise and Chairman of the Alstom group of companies.

Mr Habil Khorakiwala, Chairman of Wockhardt Ltd, has been elected as Vice-President. He is also President of the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA), an industry association of the top 12 Indian pharmaceutical companies.
