Chennai Port changes entry for export containers

Our Bureau

CHENNAI: As a temporary measure, the Chennai Port Trust (ChPT) has decided to allow the entry of export containers through gate number 10, since tsunami-affected families have occupied the road leading to gate number one, says a port trust press release.

Until an alternative place is found for rehabilitating these families, ChPT, in consultation with the port users, has decided to allow export container trailers through gate number 10 during the permitted time between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
