Out of tune with Nature

This is with reference to the article `Was it a human failure?' (Business Line, December 29).

The comment regarding the inefficiency of the flood warning systems during disasters seems a trifle harsh considering the fact that India's flood warning systems are not state-of the-art and India does not employ DART gauges (Deep Ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunamis).

But one agrees fully with the observation of the brain taking a backseat owing to the advent of technology.
