Telecommunications New post-paid plan from BSNL Our Bureau
Kochi , Dec. 30 BSNL has launched Plan 140, a new post-paid scheme for its mobile customers and other special schemes for the New Year. Under the Plan 140 scheme, the monthly rental is Rs140 only and the call charges are Rs 1.20 per minute for calls to mobile phones or landlines within the circle, Mr S.A. Thomas, Chief General Manager, BSNL, Kerala Circle, said. The STD calls to mobile phones is charged at Rs 2 per minute and STD calls to land lines are charged at the rate of Rs 2.40 per minute irrespective of the distance. The SMS charges under the scheme will be 0.60 paise per message within the circles and Re 1 per message outside the circle. The scheme is valid up to February 28, next year, he said. BSNL also introduced several other special schemes for the new year that included free activation on post paid connections, rent waiving scheme for land line (B-fone) and Cell One customers, full talk-time on pre-paid recharge coupons of Rs 1,102 and Rs 551, free ITC card on booking land line B-fone connections and waiving of installation charges for all new land line connections booked during the offer period between January 1 and 31. The landline and mobile connections disconnected for non-payment up to September, could be re connected without payment of rental for the disconnected period. No activation charges would be taken for the post paid connection under any plan subscribed during the offer period from January 1 to 31. Free ITC card worth Rs 500 would be provided to the customers who book a new B-fone connection of BSNL during the offer period, in those areas wherever connections are available on demand. The Chief General Manager said that the demand for landline connections is on the increase as the department had allotted 36 lakh new connections and one lakh WLL phones. The tele-density in the State is 16/100 including mobile phones, he said. BSNL's mobile phone Cell One connections had touched 6.4 lakh in the State and the company is planning to enhance the basic terminal stations to 640 from the present 600 in the current fiscal so as to provide an uninterrupted coverage.
