Mobilise internal resources

The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, has done the right thing by refusing at this point foreign aid to meet relief needs for the tsunami vistims.

We must first make full use of the resources available in India for rehabilitation of the tsunami victims, before we go with the begging bowl to the US. The Government has already introduced an additional surcharge. But this is only a small portion of what we as a population can contribute. So, now is the time for everybody, including those hoarding black money, to share the responsibility of providing financial relief to those hit by the tsunami.
