Vijaya Bank extends agri-loans in Kerala

KOCHI: Vijaya Bank will disburse loans of Rs 100 crore in the agricultural sector in the State in the current financial year, Mr Shantahram Shetty, Deputy General Manager, has said.

The directive of the Union Government to double the agricultural loans within three years would be achieved by the bank in the current fiscal itself, he said while speaking at the function organised as part of customers fortnight of the bank.

The total business of the bank in Kerala had touched Rs 1,300 crore. The bank, with 70 branches throughout the State, is in the process of installing 16 ATMs shortly, he added.

In connection with the Agricultural Investment Credit Month, which is being observed till January 15, 2005, the bank would be granting all types of investment loans for agriculture.

It has also new schemes like V-Kanyadan, V-Mangala etc. Chief Managers, Mr Sukumar Shetty and Mr K. Devadas were also present on the occasion.
