Exact predictions

Science and technology has helped us make such vast economic progress. But if we were able to apply it more effectively to predict the recent tsunami, then thousands of lives could have been saved.

The economies of Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Thailand will now have a hard time recouping from the devastating tsunami that struck last week as these countries largely depend on tourism and fishing, which contribute substantially to their GDP.

In India too, many tourist spots were hit. In the light of the disasterm, scientists should focus on exact predictions of such natural calamities and join the international team of such efforts.
