Elder to tap lifestyle diseases market

THE Rs 275-crore Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd has set up `El Life', a division dedicated to tap the about Rs 2,800 crore lifestyle diseases market.

This segment has a share of about 14.7 per cent of the total pharma market, next to only the anti-infectives segment that has a 16 per cent share, the company said.

As part of plans for this segment, the company expects to launch about 25 new products under this division in its first year of operation and hopes to clock sales of about Rs 20 crore in this period, a company note said.
