New Delhi , Jan. 7

THE Monopolies & Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (MRTPC) has directed Agro Tech Foods Pvt Ltd, makers of the cooking oil brand, `Sundrop Heart', to withdraw their advertisement on the product.

In compliance with MRTPC order, the company has withdrawn its advertisement in the electronic media relating to its product, an official release said.

The commission had directed the company to immediately discontinue the impugned advertisement after a Mumbai-based cardiologist complained against the firm.

The complainant had alleged that the advertisement was misleading and could prove detrimental to the health of gullible consumers.

After considering the matter, the commission viewed that the impugned advertisement was misleading in nature and amounted to an unfair trade practice.
