VISAKHAPATNAM: L&T John Deere Private Ltd launched its 40 HP tractor 5103 models here on Saturday, "specially made in view of the tough soil conditions and the expectations of Andhra farmers.'' Mr Mukul Varshney, zonal manager, said the tractor had heavy duty transmission, high torque engine, trouble-free oil immersed disc breaks, coolant, overflow reservoir, oil jet for piston and side gear shifting levers. "These features make the tractor ideal for hard soils at high tropical conditions. It can perform for hours without any problem," he said. The tractors were available in the range of 40 HP, 42 HP, 47 HP, 50 HP, 55 HP and 70 HP and all the models would be introduced in the Andhra Pradesh market.He said L&T John Deere Private Ltd was a joint venture of Larsen and Toubro Ltd and Deere & Company, with 50 per cent equity apiece.
