Lifetime achievement award

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The All India Manufacturing Technology, Design and Research Conference (AIMTDR), a forum of experts in the field of manufacturing engineering, has conferred its lifetime achievement award on Dr V. Radhakrishnan, Director (Research), Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham in Coimbatore.

A spokesman said that Dr Radhakrishnan was selected for his contributions to research, teaching and development in the area of manufacturing technology. He graduated in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering in Thiruvananthapuram in 1961, took his M Tech from IIT-Kharagpur and PhD from IIT-Chennai.

He served IIT-Chennai for 38 years, holding many academic and administrative positions. He has seven patents to his credit and has won many national and international awards for inventions and contributions to manufacturing engineering.
