Outlook Metropolis plans labs in Hyderabad, Kolkata K.V. Kurmanath
Hyderabad , Jan. 11 METROPOLIS Health Services (I) Pvt Ltd, a chain of clinical laboratories company, would have its centres in Hyderabad and Kolkata by April next. After Hyderabad, it would go to Kolkata as part of its plans to cover all the major cities in the country. "We are in talks to with local diagnostic centres and hospitals at both the places," Dr Sushil Shah, Chairman of Metropolis, told Business Line. "We are looking for a strategic partner who can add value to our services," he said. After opening Hyderabad and Kolkata centres, Metropolis would have covered 10 States. The company's strategy was to open major referral laboratories in key States, while setting up collection centres in others. "Our aim is to open at least one laboratory in every State in three years," he said. Dr Shah was in the city as part of the search for a partner. The company was looking at a turnover of Rs 45 crore for the current fiscal as against Rs 35 crore recorded last year. Metropolis was also vying options to set up laboratories in the SAARC region, South-East Asia, West Asia and Africa. "There are at least eight such proposals. We will take a decision in six months," Dr Shah said.
