THE Securities and Exchange Board of India has instituted the SEBI Award for Excellence in Research in Securities Market to promote research in the area of securities market and allied areas through recognition and honour of outstanding researchers, it said.

Under the initiative, up to three awards will be conferred on three best researchers, individuals or institutions in securities markets every year. The award includes a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a citation, said the release.

SEBI invites researchers to submit a brief and focused synopsis (about 2,000 words) of the research paper. The synopsis for this year may be sent to researchaward@sebi.gov.in and must reach by February 28.

A panel of two anonymous referees constituted by the Chairman of SEBI will assess and identify approximately 15 best synopses, said the release.
