Seven Entertainment's plans

Our Bureau

MUMBAI: Seven Entertainment, a film marketing company, has announced its plans to market Indian films globally.

The company would commence its activity by marketing films made by independent filmmakers like Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Kanika Verma, Anik Ghosh, Bappaditya Roy and Assamese director Jahnu Baruwa.

The company is in the process of setting up distribution networks in Germany, France and Italy.

While Baruwa is directing The Butterfly Chase, a movie advocating peace in the time of terrorism, Diwedi is directing Manto, based on the life and times of Sadat Hassan Manto, the Maupassant of Asia. The other films include Dansh directed by Kanika Verma, Ghari by Anik Ghosh, and Ek Din Anjane Mein by Bappaditya Roy.

"At Seven Entertainment we will provide a platform for such filmmakers and by marketing them globally we will try and ensure maximum possible returns for these films," said Mr Anish Ranjan, Managing Director of Seven Entertainment Ltd.
