AP plans animation academy

THE Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy, has said that his Government is contemplating setting up of an animation academy to help build human resources.

Though the details of the proposed animation academy have been kept under wraps, the Government is of the opinion that such an academy would serve as a nodal agency for both people to train as also industry to participate in some education initiatives.

Speaking at the Animation India 2005, Dr Reddy said that the State is seeking to enhance skills to make potential experts industry ready.

Assuring the IT sector of necessary support, including infrastructure such as international airport, he said that the Government is at advanced stage of finalising plans for a 160-km outer ring road that would have about 12 townships dotting its path.

This is aimed at both easing up the city congestion and further consolidating the existing infrastructure.
