Cordless revolution

A youngster uses a mobile phone at home. Kerala, whose population is 3.5 crore, has an estimated annual expenditure of Rs 1,000 crore on mobile phones. Major players in mobile telephony are making a beeline to open outlets all over the State. As per a survey taken in November, about 18.5 lakh mobile phone connections exist in the State, out of which 13.5 lakh are prepaid and 5 lakh postpaid.
