Judges visit RINL plant

VISAKHAPATNAM: The panel of judges for awarding the Prime Minister's trophy visited the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd steel plant here on Monday to assess its performance during 2003-2004.

It may be noted that the plant had been awarded the coveted prize in the steel sector for the previous year (2002-2003).

The panel consisted of Mr R.K. Dang, former secretary, steel, Dr S.R. Jain, former Chairman of SAIL, Dr S.K. Gupta, Director, Jindal Vijayanagar Steel Ltd, Mr P.D.F. Lam, Executive Director, Godrej, Mr Suresh Pandey, former managing director of Bokaro steel plant and Dr S.N. Dash, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel.

The panel will be here for three days for the purpose.

Mr Y. Siva Sagara Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, explained to the panel the achievements of the plant during the year.
