MUMBAI: Varun Shipping has registered a net profit of Rs 23.24 crore in the third quarter of the current fiscal, against Rs 10.04 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.

The company's total freight revenue during the quarter was Rs 103.80 crore, as against Rs 72.90 crore in the third quarter of the last fiscal.

During the nine-month ended December 31, the company has recorded a 183 per cent increase to Rs 51.72 crore from Rs 18.24 crore during the corresponding nine months of the last fiscal.

In the last quarter, the company acquired its seventh LPG carrier, Maharishi Labhatreya.
