New Delhi , Jan. 17

IGATE Global Solutions has announced plans to hire 1,000 people in 2005 to expand integrated technology and operations capabilities in Noida and Bangalore.

"We see increasing traction in the marketplace for our integrated delivery model. The expansion is in line with our plans to build the required capability and scale that we need for going forward," Mr Phaneesh Murthy, Chief Executive Officer, iGATE told a news conference here on Monday.

The expansion will take the company's headcount in its 50,000-sq. ft. voice and data facility in Noida to 850; while in Bangalore, its workforce will grow to 1,700. In Chennai too, iGATE plans to take the headcount to 850 from 350 currently. iGATE is currently in the process of completing phase II of its expansion at its 14-acre integrated campus in Bangalore, which will take its total offshore infrastructure to over 5,50,000 sq.ft.

Recent contracts the company bagged include loan sourcing for leading US mortgage banks, a 50-seater voice-based technical support for a leading global telecom company and data analytics based customer support for a leading UK-based insurance broking firm.

The Noida centre was successfully assessed for the BS7799 certification.
