IL&FS ventures into commodities trading

IL&FS Investsmart Ltd. (IIL) is venturing into commodities trading.

The new initiative will operate under the name of IL&FS Investsmart Commodity Brokers Ltd., (IICBL), a news release said.

The newly formed subsidiary will offer fully integrated and global service in all major commodities. IICBL plans to leverage on its pedigree and will have producers, trading houses and corporates as its clientele. Currently, the company is a member of two national level commodity exchanges, namely, National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Ltd. (NCDEX) and Multi-Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. (MCX).
