Advertising Asian POP ad show begins tomorrow Our Bureau
Chennai , Jan. 18 POP Asia 2005, an exhibition-cum-conference on point-of-purchase advertising is scheduled to be held from January 20-22 at Nehru Centre, Mumbai. According to a press release, this is the first exhibition of its kind. POP Asia will address the requirements of all constituents of the POP advertising value chain - brand marketers, advertising agencies, designers, visual merchandisers, service providers and retailers. The seminar, along with the exhibition, will have international speakers, including Mr Martin Pegler, renowned for visual merchandising and store design, as well as Mr Martin Kingdon, Director General, POP Advertising International - UK & Ireland. POP Asia 2005 will, for the first time, bring the industry buyers and sellers into direct contact from across continents, the press release says. According to the release, the Indian POP advertising industry currently is estimated at Rs 18,000 crore and growing at 30-40 per cent annually. Organised retail has grown three-fold from Rs 49,500 crore in 2000 to Rs 1,48,500 crore today, with a potential to expand to around Rs 3,60,000 crore in 2005.
