Kerala Govt staff to strike work

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A joint action council of various service organisations has served a strike notice on the State Government demanding pay revision and restoration of all benefits withdrawn earlier.

Announcing this, a spokesman for the council said here that the strike would start on February 22. The pay revision has been due from 2002, but not even the process for fixing new pay scales has been set in motion till date.

A number of benefits that were taken away from the employees also are yet to be fully restored. The decision on launching the strike was taken at a meeting of leaders of various service organisations here.
