2 iron ore exporters barred

NEW DELHI: The Government has disallowed two firms from exporting iron ore on the ground that they were exporting high iron containing ore, namely Fe64.

According to the existing rules Fe64 is canalised through the MMTC while other grades are under the Open General Licence. The firms have been stopped from exporting following the issue of show-cause notices , according to an official release. DGFT officials, when contacted, said that the names of the two firms are not being revealed at this point of time on ethical grounds.
