Chennai , Jan. 21

DENA Bank intends to recruit about a hundred each of chartered accountants, agriculture specialists and marketing officers. "The process is on," the bank's Executive Director, Mr M.V. Nair, has said.

At a press conference here, he said that the bank had only recently recruited some 60 IT officers.

The meeting was held as part of the bank's efforts to market its forthcoming public issue of eight lakh shares for a price of Rs 27 each, aggregating to Rs 216 crore.

Mr Nair said that the bank would also close down unviable branches. About 40 such branches have been identified for closure this year, he said.
