BANGALORE: Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting clocked third quarter revenues of Rs 129 crore, contributing 6 per cent to the company's Rs 2,110 crore revenues. "Our strategy for the Santoor brand have paid off, largely contributing to the growth," said Mr Vineet Agrawal, President. Its commercial and industrial lighting division grew at over 40 per cent, and Wipro was scoring big wins in the private indoor lighting segment, Mr Agrawal said.

We will now be focussing on consolidating and growing our stable of brands, Mr Agrawal said of the division which had made many acquisitions in the past 18 months, including Glucovita, distribution for Chandrika brand soaps and marketing of the Isabgol brand.

Sales of Chandrika, in particular have been up by 50 per cent in value terms compared to the brand last year (before Wipro took over). We are getting the benefits of the Santoor brand extension to face wash and cream and are evaluating the growth, he said. Sales of Santoor soaps now exceed sales of old established brands such as Hamam and Rexona, and the brand is growing at 30 per cent in a market that is growing at 12-15 per cent, according to the company.
