Off-shore Development iVision to set up Indian arm; seeks strategic allies Our Bureau
Kolkata , Jan. 23 IVISION Inc, a New York-based `technology fulfillment services company,' has announced the setting up of a 100 per cent subsidiary here. The idea is to use the Indian subsidiary for identifying local vendors who can deliver IT services to iVision Inc's clients in the US. According to Mr Romit Dasgupta, Director of iVision Inc, the company follows a client-centric business model and is focused on offering IT services to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the US. It also focuses onselect verticals such as video gaming, business process outsourcing, enterprise resource and planning and embedded software. "Through our Indian subsidiary, we shall partner with Indian IT companies in the SME segment, which have domain expertise in niche areas. We are also willing to partner with companies, which have the capabilities, but do not have access to clients in the US," Mr Dasgupta told reporters here. "iVision is keen to offer its platform as a marketing plank to niche Indian software companies in the SME segment who can thereby showcase their products and services to prospective clients in the US," he added. According to him, iVision has already partnered with Globsyn Infotech (the software development division of Globsyn Technologies of Kolkata) to service the customer relationship management and legacy systems services needs of its US clients. The turnover generated by the US company is currently in the range of $1.5 million-$2 million. "We now have clients whose specific needs are beyond the capabilities of Globsyn. Hence, we are on the lookout for more strategic partners who have domain expertise in other niche areas," he said.
