Railways Marketing - Strategy First budget rail hotel commissioned Our Bureau
New Delhi , Jan. 24 THE first budget rail hotel, Railotel, has been commissioned at Kumta in coastal Karnataka on the Konkan Railway. Aimed at providing passenger facilities at cheap rates, which are fixed by the Konkan Railway, the project has started functioning, an official release said. In this project, the contribution of Konkan Railway was to provide land on lease. The lessee invested in, manages and markets the Railotel. The Konkan Railway gets land lease rent and percentage as royalty from the gross business of the Railotel, the release said. The second such project is to be commissioned at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra by March this year.
