THE Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, is leading a ministerial team to China for a near week-long visit beginning on January 30.

The Chief Minister is being accompanied by the Agriculture Minister, Mr N. Raghuveera Reddy, and the Major Irrigation Minister, Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah. The `goodwill-cum-study' tour will begin with a dinner hosted by the Indian Ambassador in Beijing on January 30.

The visit is in response to a Chinese Government invitation to the Centre to nominate Chief Ministers of certain States. The Centre suggested Andhra Pradesh for the progressive reforms in the agriculture sector. The Chinese side also expressed preference for the State.
