Protest against lotteries ban

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Service organisations in the State have expressed themselves strongly against the ban imposed on lotteries by the State Government.

A joint meeting of the organisations held here demanded the immediate withdrawal of the ban, which is feared to affect the future of 600-odd employees of the Lotteries Directorate and livelihood of 2.5 lakh lottery vendors.

The meeting resolved to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding the withdrawal of the ban. Marches will be taken out to the Directorate, at the district centres and the Secretariat.
