Coimbatore , Jan. 27

STATE Bank of India has installed a `coin dispenser' at the Railway Station in Coimbatore to facilitate the user source change in denomination of Re 1, should a need arise at a crucial time.

It has been fixed next to the platform ticket vending machine.

Mr P. Pradeep Kumar, General Manager, Chennai Circle inaugurated the coin vending machine, sourced from Kores India for Rs 40,000.

"The user will have to insert one Rs 10 denomination note at a time. One rupee coin of equivalent value will be pushed out.

"The sensor will reject fake or soiled notes. It will accept only currency note with the `Gandhi' picture," Mr Narayanaswamy. AGM, SBI told Business Line.

"Whenever the chest-load falls below a certain limit, the sensor will indicate and we will load the change," he said.
