Hyderabad , Jan. 27

THE National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC), a Government of India undertaking under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles, is organising a 15-day exhibition-cum-sale of reputed varieties of silk fabric products, `SilkFab-2005', at Satya Sai Nigamagam here.

The State Finance Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, inaugurated the expo-cum-sale here on Thursday with 50 agencies from 12 silk producing States taking part in it.

According to the organisers, the expo-cum-sale accommodates reputed varieties such as Gadwal, Pochampally, Muga Silk, Tassar, Kantha, Kosa Silk, Gathjora, Patola, Pannetor, Printed Silk Sarees, Chinta Mani, Chanderi, Paithani, Bamkai, Bandhej, Kanjeevaram, Tajamdani and Baluchari.

As silk fabric products in wide varieties and designs are being brought to the customers directly without the involvement of any traders and middlemen, both the producers and customers would benefit, the organisers said.
