Hindustan Zinc Q3 net up 20 pc to Rs 166 cr

NEW DELHI: Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) has reported a net profit of Rs 166 crore for the quarter ended December 2004, an increase of 20 per cent over Rs 138 crore clocked during the corresponding previous quarter, according to a company release.

Profit before interest, depreciation and taxation stood at Rs 218 crore (Rs 207 crore), while turnover was Rs 570 crore (Rs 498 crore).

The company's expansion plan is on schedule and commissioning of new capacity at Chanderia is expected in the first quarter of the next fiscal.
