Cinema Columbia TriStar rechristened Sony Pictures Our Bureau
Mumbai , Jan. 28 COLUMBIA TriStar Film of India Ltd has been renamed as Sony Pictures Releasing of India Ltd in line with the change in the international name change of Columbia TriStar Distributors International to Sony Pictures International. The international operations have generated more than $1 billion in box-office receipts, second only to the $1.3 billion in ticket sales recorded by the company in 2002. The Indian operations too created records of sorts by crossing the Rs 100-crore mark in ticket sales in 2004. This is the second time that the Indian operations have scaled to such heights, in three years, the first time being 2002. Sony Pictures Releasing International will be releasing films, including Hitch, starring Will Smith and Fun With Dick and Jane starring Jim Carrey and Tea Leoni.
