Trends Fun Republic to open multiplex in Bangalore Our Bureau
Bangalore , Jan. 28 FUN Republic, a chain promoting out-of-home entertainment concept in major cities, plans to open multiplex in Bangalore by November. It has entered into a tie up with Sigma Mall, which is coming up in the city. "Fun Republic: E-City Entertainment (I) Private Ltd", which is a part of the Essel Group, headed by Mr Subhash Chandra, will be opening similar facility in different cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad this year. E-city Entertainment has tied up with important cinema houses and shopping malls in the cities to promote the concept. Already it operates three entertainment centres at Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Chandigarh. A company spokesman said E-city Entertainment would be leasing 50,000 sq ft from Sigma. Of this cinemas would occupy approximately 35,000 sq ft, the remaining areas would be allocated to a food court, music or bookstore and a video games area. The facility would be developed with an investment of Rs 10 crore, said a company release. The entire Sigma Mall complex will be developed in about 1,50,000 sq ft, which will have brand stores as tenants, including Pantaloon and Pizza Hut. Fun Republic organises lot of events and promotions at each of its centres to attract customers. Movie premieres, music releases, film festivals, short-term and long-term promotional alliances with brands of such as Pepsi, Orange, Red Bull and many other brands are presented at various Fun Republic centres.
